Current Volunteer Needs
SORTING - Volunteers sort through donations and determine whether items will be sold at ABBEYGAIL'S or sent downtown to the Women's Center for clients or sent to third world countries for distribution through churches and other relief organizations.
Attention to detail is essential. NOTHING GOES TO WASTE!STEAMING AND PRICING -
These volunteers do a final inspection of garments that are to be placed for sale at ABBEYGAIL'S. Then each garment is steamed and priced according to the pricing guidelines established by the oversight committee.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - These volunteer positions require climbing stairs and lifting donation bags weighing approximately 15 - 20 pounds.
DAYS AND HOURS NEEDED - Volunteers are needed Tuesdays - Fridays. Shifts are 3 - 4 hours on a weekly basis between the hours of 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Most volunteers prefer to work early shift (11 a.m. - 2 p.m.) or afternoon shift (2 p.m. - 6 p.m.)If you are interested in volunteering at ABBEYGAIL'S, please fill out the Volunteer Application and submit it.
